According to public records Cinday Jackson, our illustrious county treasurer, filed bankruptcy a few years ago.
For those that would like to see the complete file all you have to do is write to:
National Archives and Records Administration
PO Box 6216
501 W Felix Bldg 1, Dock 1
Fort Worth, Texas 76115
Ask for Case file 94-12671, FRC Accession # 021-96-02223, FRC Location B3010444, Agency Box number 33.
Include a check for $35.00 and they will send you the complete file on the Jackson bankruptcy. It is quite an eyeopener. With the new laws that just went into effect I doubt she would have even qualified now due to her income level and low debt ratio.
Most of her debt was to student loans (she brags about her education and you and I are paying for it since she defaulted on the loan) and to the Comanche County Memorial Hospital (again your tax dollars go to pay for her defaulted debt).
As time goes on I will detail more of this ludicrous bankruptcy... but basically she took the easy way out to settle her debts. All you have to do is make minimum payments, as low as $25.00 per month, to both the hospital and the student loans and they will leave you alone. As long as you show an effort they will work with you. But not Cindy... She is the person that is charged with keeping the counties money safe and she can not even balance her personal debt.
By the way, Tommy Hawthorne has the actual request for the bankruptcy records, filled out and ready to mail to the archives. I know because I delivered it to him before the last election. I don't know if he ever made out a check and sent it in but he knew that she had filed for bankruptcy and did nothing to let the voting public know. Of course Tommy is all for poor county government... just look at the candidates he supports.
Anyway, more to come. And I am trying to find out if this is the only bankruptcy she has files. Rumor at the court house is that she has done this twice!!!

Cindy Jackson NO MORE!!!
At last there is a possibility to get someone into the treasurer’s position that will have new ideas and stop some of the foolishness that has been going on since Cindy Jackson became appointed treasurer and then elected over and over again. This woman can not manage her own money much less the county's money.
She has decided not to run again and that is the best news that Comanche County has heard in a long time.
Since Barbara Bull was trained under Inola Ash and then worked as the first deputy under Cindy Jackson I see no reason to believe that she will not continue the same old tradition that has been entrenched in the treasurer’s office for the last 12 to 16 years.
The voters that live within the city limits had pay attention and not let the 'againers' in the county let Bull get voted in or nothing will change.
If King Wiggins does not run again Steve Aust will get my vote.
Steve, just like King, knows about all of the mismanagemnt. He quoted one great example in the Sunday Constituion on April 23, 2006. If you did not read his announcement then you should rush out and get a copy of the paper. He also very correct about the treasurer's resale account that Cindy thinks is her own personal account to spend as she pleases (Do you really think Barbara Bull will be any different?).
Expenses will continue to grow and income will decline with the new tax laws that give 100% exemption to veterans. Even sales taxes will decline with the 100% disabled veterans being exempt from sales tax.
Now is the time for a change… vote the old ‘system’ out and bring in new blood that stands for progressive, ethical and responsible management
